Paper as raw-material
 Our single
most important raw material is responsibly produced
newsprint. The
total paper consumption of Sanoma News in 2008 was
approximately 98,000 tonnes.
According to Sanoma Group's Paper
Procurement Principles, werequire that our suppliers procure wood responsibly and
consider social questions. The guidelines ensure, that the paper we
procure has been produced responsibly. We favour paper suppliers
that have the ISO 14001 environmental system.
Sanoma News supports forest
certification as an accepted method of practicing sustainable
forest management and favours papers made from certified fibres in
its procurement. We use paper made from recycled fibres, where
possible. Most of the paper used by Sanoma News is sourced from
Finnish forests.
