Investment in new
system is sign of trust in printed paper
Sanoma News to
build joint reader-customer management system to support its
newspapers in multi-product environment
Sanoma News has launched a major
project for developing a new joint reader-customer management
system for its newspapers.
"This major investment decision is a
sign of our strong belief in the subscription based newspapers. We
are certain that the printed newspaper will continue to retain its
strong position in the Finnish media environment in the future,"
states Mikael Pentikäinen, President of Sanoma News.
"We want to continue in our role as
leaders. The system will enable us to offer our customers more
versatile product combinations and subscription alternatives than
before. It will also improve the support of the multi-channel
package of the web and printed media," says Pekka Soini, President
of Helsingin Sanomat.
The project, which will be carried
out through cooperation between all Sanoma News' newspapers, will
replace the current reader-customer management system. The new
functions include, among others, customer account management,
product and subscriptions management, support for sales and
marketing, and distribution and address management. The new system
will also cater better for overall customer management, the
multi-channel product range, and the service, sales and customer
management processes.
Sanoma News will begin to specify the
new system with SAP Finland. The system will be based on the SAP
for Media solution and SAP CRM software.
